The Work

Mind Over Matter is a proposed four-part limited docuseries about the unraveling of an enigmatic Cold War scientist entangled in madcap escapades with psychedelics, psychic espionage, and otherworldly entities. In 2018, I negotiated a production agreement deal with Film 45. As co-producer of the documentary project, I created a pitch package, including writing a pitch deck and editing a film teaser.

The Story

Travel back in time to the Cold War mania of clandestine operations that sanctioned psychedelics, parapsychology, and psychic spying. Meet the charming, intellectual, and eccentric Dr. Andrija Puharich. A cadre of wealthy elite and intelligence officers woo him away from conventional medicine, financing his unorthodox research work. Globe-trotting around the world, he becomes an anthropologist of shamans, a secret agent of psychics, and a controversial inventor of neurological devices. He cavorts across continents with a plethora of beautiful women and intriguing luminaries like Aldous Huxley and Timothy Leary. Eventually, his questionable experiments with young psychics create trouble, tarnishing his reputation and leading to his downfall. Was he a disinformation agent working an elaborate hoax to outwit enemies of the state? Was it all just a ruse to hoodwink his investors? Perhaps he fell prey to his own delusions? Or possibly, he really did stumble upon a gateway into another dimension in our perplexing universe of infinite unknowables?
