PBS Digital Shorts

Here is a selection of short documentary stories I produced, directed, filmed, and edited for PBS New Mexico during 2008 - 2010.

A local promo for the PBS series, Nature. Meet Daizy, an Asian elephant born at the Rio Grande Zoo. Daizy and her family are part of the Elephant Species Survival Plan that boosts elephant reproduction efforts in zoos and wildlife centers.

A local promo for the PBS series, National Parks. Take a walk back in time with historical re-enactors through the ruins of New Mexico’s Fort Union National Monument and learn about its role as guardian of the Santa Fe Trail, which once connected our nation's complex heritage of Indian, French, Spanish, Mexican, and American cultures.

A pilot episode for PBS New Mexico. US students perform below average on international math scores, but this elementary school teacher diverges from usual teaching methods in an effort to dream America differently.

A local promo for the PBS series, Nature. Why bother saving a minnow? Terina Perez, hatchery manager at Albuquerque’s BioParks Rearing and Breeding Facility, explains that “if you promote species diversity, then you can’t just choose fluffy, charismatic animals.” Learn about how scientists and environmentalists are working to recover the endangered minnow and preserve New Mexico’s river life.
