The Story
SPOILED highlights the oil resource curse, a paradoxical phenomenon whereby oil-rich, developing countries tend to have greater economic instability, social conflict, and environmental damage. The story features fictionalized characters based on real-life experiences that span from Texas to Angola, Nigeria, and Chad.
The Project
In 2014, I received funding to create a demo for this motion graphic documentary story to be played as an interactive app. The demo premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and was a featured exhibit at the Missoula Art Museum in 2015.
